The sixth season of "Game of Thrones" is coming up soon, and as with every season of the show, there are bound to be many character deaths throughout the 10 episodes. However, this season there will also be at least one character who is brought back to life, according to actor Ian McShane. McShane plays an unknown character in the show for one episode only, and has stated that he will be responsible for bringing back someone important. Not only that, but there are other servants of the Lord of Light who would be just as capable of bringing people back, such as Melisandre and Thoros of Myr. Here are the characters most likely to come back to life:

7. Eddard (Ned) Stark

It might seem strange to see the father of the Stark children on this list, since he was killed in the ninth episode of the first season and hasn't been seen since. There are plenty of rumors that he may have survived getting beheaded, however. The most popular theory is that one of the Faceless Men (Perhaps Syrio Forel?) took Ned's place at the chopping block in order to allow him to escape to freedom, and that Ned has been hiding ever since. To back this theory up, his wife Catelyn says in the books that the bones returned to her look smaller than she'd think Ned's would be, and Sansa doesn't think his facial features are quite right in death. In the books, his death is witnessed through Arya's eyes, as well, and she is too far away to see what's happening very clearly. As much as I would like for this to be true, there are some problems with this idea. Although the books seem to hint that he could still be alive, the show made no such hints, and it would be more difficult to convince viewers that the plot twist makes sense.

6. Khal Drogo

Drogo is another character that was killed off at the end of season one, though he was seen briefly in a vision during season two. When he was in a comatose state, Daenerys was told that he wouldn't return to her until the sun rose in the west and set in the east, when the seas went dry and mountains blew in the wind like leaves, and when she bore a living child. At first, these seem to just be statements made to convince her that his return is impossible, but they could be a prophecy. In the books, Quentyn Martell, whose sigil is a sun, travels from the west and goes east. The Mountain is now some sort of undead creature working for Cersei, and if he was killed, his remains might blow away like leaves. The seas going dry could refer to the expanse of land known as the Dothraki Sea, which Dany will now be entering, and it's possible that her womb is capable of bearing a child again. In addition, Jason Momoa (who plays Drogo) has been seen on set, though there are also rumors that he will just be in another flashback or vision.

5. Sandor Clegane (The Hound)

We last saw the Hound at the end of season four, when he was dying of his wounds from a battle with Brienne of Tarth and Arya refused to kill him out of mercy when he asked. In the books, Brienne isn't the one who nearly kills the Hound, but she does see a gravedigger with similar scars on his face as the Hound. This is enough evidence for most readers to guess that the Hound wasn't actually killed at all, or that if he was, he was revived in some manner. Clegane is a fan favorite to come back, due to his humorous banter with Arya in the past, and the fact that he could be the one to face his brother when Cersei has her trial by combat.

4. Stannis Baratheon

Stannis is another character that Brienne may or may not have killed. His death in the last episode of the fifth season was never actually seen, though this was supposedly "out of respect" for the king and not wanting to show such a violent end. Whether or not he was actually killed is unknown, but even if he was killed, Stannis is certainly somebody that Melisandre would make a few sacrifices to try to bring back. He wouldn't be the man McShane's character brings back, but we still might see him again.

3. Mance Rayder

In the books, Mance Rayder was seen being burnt at the stake, but Jon later discovers that it was all a trick Melisandre set up, in which she actually sacrificed someone else and used magic to make the sacrifice look like Mance. If this was true in the show, Melisandre probably would have mentioned it at some point during last season, since he was killed in the first episode, but it's always possible that she's been keeping a few secrets. Bringing Mance back wouldn't bring much to the show, unless there are important things he ends up doing in future books.

2. Catelyn Stark

Catelyn Stark was killed at the Red Wedding, but in the books, she comes back as a character named Lady Stoneheart. Lady Stoneheart is unable to talk, due to her throat having been cut, but she helps command the Brotherhood without Banners (which we also haven't seen since season three) and plans to exact revenge on the Freys. Bringing Catelyn back would be interesting, and help the show stray less from the books than it already has, but Michelle Fairley, who plays Catelyn, has stated in the past that she wouldn't be wearing zombie makeup anytime soon. Hopefully she was lying, since it would be more than satisfying if she was the one to get back at the Freys and Boltons for their betrayal.

1. Jon Snow

The most shocking moment in the fifth season's finale was the death of Jon Snow when he was Julius Caesar'd by his fellow brothers in the Night's Watch. Melisandre has shown a lot of interest in Jon in the past, so if she has the power to bring someone back, it's unlikely that she wouldn't help Jon out. Not only that, but there's the unresolved matter of who Jon's mother is. George R. R. Martin wouldn't have foreshadowed this so much (R+L=J) if he wasn't going to make Jon's lineage important in future books. Therefore, unless Martin was really trying to annoy readers more than he has before in such an unnecessary way, it's almost guaranteed that Jon will be coming back at some point.

These are my predictions for who might be coming back to life in season 6 of Game of Thrones. Since many of the characters at the top of the list are likely to be brought back by Melisandre, or Thoros if they come back at all, it might be possible that multiple characters on the list will be back. Season six starts on April 24, and maybe then this question will be answered.
