New York City. A concrete jungle. A wanderlust adventure that makes you feel alive. It’s the city that never sleeps. However, as a part of my summer travel series, whether you take a day trip into the city or need to fly cross country, I figured I would compile a list of some of NYC’s most well-known restaurants! While they might not be the best to your standards, I have either been there or seen them on the many food accounts I follow on Instagram. So, fellow foodies unite. Below are some of NYC’s most sought after delicacies!

1. Max Brenner

Located at 841 Broadway, this chocolate lover’s dream is a restaurant you can’t miss! I have eaten here before and thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Let’s be real — they have regular food, but we all just want the chocolate! In fact, there are vats of chocolate on display in the restaurant! The fondue special is awesome and the liquid chocolate to drink is actually liquid heaven. Chocolate lovers, look no further!

2. Magnolia’s Bakery

Located throughout NYC and at other US locations, this bakery is well-known for their decadent desserts. I have personally seen lines for this place wrapping around the block! Crazy, I know. However, their cupcakes, cookies and other desserts are plain old amazeballs. A MUST: their banana pudding! You must try it… OK, so I haven’t had it yet, but have seen it on foodie Instagram accounts multiple times.

3. The Sugar Factory

This fairly new restaurant located in the Meatpacking District has sweet treats and drinks that will blow your mind. I’m sure you’ve all seen that signature green drink on your news feed!

4. Chelsea Market

Do yourself a favor and just go to Chelsea Market. It is filled with stores, food and the awesome atmosphere of the Meatpacking District. The array of delicacies when I went there made my mouth water!

5. Eataly

This Italian restaurant is located right on 5th Avenue. As many know, this avenue is one of style and luxury, so you may pay a little more for your meal. However, the pasta dishes there look heavenly!

6. Black Tap

I guess I have a theme running here, but the Meatpacking District is by far one of my favorite sections of NYC! Anyway, this restaurant has locations in both the Meatpacking District and in SoHo serving up burgers, beer and (you guessed it) decadent milkshakes! I am sure you could tell by the photos — not dietetic — but delicious for sure! These aren’t any old milkshake. Black Tap makes sure they are authentic and creamy with the right toppings! These giant milkshakes come in Cotton Candy, Cookie and Sweet & Salty.

7. Artichoke Basille’s Pizza

This well-known pizza parlor has locations dotting NYC! The slices are huge and decadently flavored. Supposedly, their secret sauce with more than 20 ingredients is what makes this artichoke pizza one for the books!

Enjoy the food coma to follow!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
