I go home on Tuesday. I'm really excited. College is hard, and I'm very tired. I've been procrastinating some more by watching copious YouTube videos, so here's Jimmy Fallon's face to describe the last 7 days of your college year:
7. The day you think "I have time"
You're not leaving for a whole 7 days. Finals don't start for a few days, but classes are already over. So you're just walking around being unproductive when you definitely have stuff you should be doing.
6. The day you (optimistically) think "Finals won't be that bad"
You always went to class (not), you paid attention (definitely not), and therefore you retained all the information you need to score at least a B- on the final (yeah, absolutely not).
5. The day you discover finals were actually that bad
After one crammed all-nighter, you somehow still manage to pull out a decent grade on the final. You still hit a low B in the class. Don't worry, though, you'll get em next semester (probably not).
4. The day you realize how expensive plastic bins are
All I need is a plastic tub to put all my junk in, and it costs me $25. I've already given up my entire savings account, taken out loans and given my well-being as collateral, my checking account is in negative numbers, and I've lost my pride, dignity, and mental sanity throughout the course of my year. So sure, here's another $25.
3. The day your best friend goes home
How can you survive the months apart? You were never more than 10 steps away from each other all year, and now it will take a 10-hour drive to see their face IRL. You ~literally~ got lunch, dinner, and second dinner together every day for 8 months. How are you supposed to handle STATES between you?
2. The day your years of playing Tetris come in handy
You crank up some tunes and get to packing. You are just a few days away from getting the HECK outta here. Who knew you could fit 47 T-Shirts in one suitcase?
1. The day you see your dorm room completely packed up
The broom closet you made a home has been where you run for everything. The posters and decorations that you have accumulated throughout the year all have significant meaning, and seeing the walls without them feels wrong.
0. The day you leave
YOU MADE IT!!! Congrats on surviving until the bitter end. Now get out of your dorm as fast as you can and enjoy some sweet, well-deserved R&R.
