My 7 Lucky Date Ideas

7. Wilmington Ladybug Festival

This is a perfect music festival in the city of Wilmington. With music playing in & around the city all day, it is a perfect free pass to hear some new local musicians and spend the day in the city.

6. Smyrna at Night

There might not be much to do in the little town of Smyrna, Delaware, but if you're nearby, Smyrna at Night is the best time to go! With bands from Deleware and Pennsylvania performing, its the perfect night in town to grab a bite and listen to some great music. This year Smyrna at Night has over 40 different bands performing all around town for you to check out. So stop by on the way to the beach!

5. Towers Beach

Just a little past Rehoboth Beach is a small jewel called Towers Beach. Many times people stop at Rehoboth for the boardwalk but never get a chance to drive a little farther down. For only two dollars, you can spend the day at the beach with fewer people around you! The best part is that there is a small concession to grab food and showers to clean up before your drive home!

4. Hopkins Farm Creamery

This is a home made ice cream joint for all ages. Nothing is better than stopping by for some farm, fresh ice cream before you travel home for the night. Hopkins Family Creamery Hopkins has different flavors of ice cream every month with over 20 different flavors of ice cream to try. This is actually my favorite place for ice cream!

3. Delaware Water Gap

If you are in for a little bit of a drive, the Delaware Water Gap is on the PA-NJ line. It is home to numerous waterfalls and hiking trails. With plenty of places to rest and enjoy the view, this is a perfect place to take your significant other on a date with some adventure.

2. Steampunk Tree House

This treehouse was originally built as an art project during the Burning Man Festival (another truly amazing event to catch if you have the time) and is now open for the public to use in Milton, Delaware.

1. Your Local State Fair

As silly as it may sound, your local state fair is the one place your state has everything to offer in one spot. For me, the Delaware State Fair is a great place to try new foods, see new projects, and watch animal showings. It can be the perfect place to show your loved one something about where you grew up or experience new foods together... maybe even go on some rides and win your lady a stuffed animal! The state fair is a great place to go.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
