Petition to renew Graceland... and all the others

7 Beloved TV Shows That Have Been Cancelled

I don’t really watch much TV anymore, mostly because Netflix has taken over. Another reason is that some of my favorite shows aren’t on anymore. Here is a list of seven of my favorite shows that got cancelled.

1. Graceland

This show is and probably always will be one of my favorites. It was based on real events and followed the story of six agents living in the same Malibu house- Briggs, Charlie, Mike and Johnny were FBI, Paige was DEA and Jakes was ICE. Throughout the three seasons the show ran, the agents worked together, using resources from each other’s agencies to solve each other’s cases. They also had their drama, plus, Charlie made some really amazing sauce.

2. Flash Forward

Based on a novel by Robert J. Sawyer, the show was about the aftermath of a worldwide blackout, where the entire world lost consciousness for a little over two minutes, and some saw glimpses of the future. The main characters resided in Los Angelos, and those who were FBI agents worked to discover the reason behind the blackout. The show only lasted for a season, with the show ending the same way it began- another blackout.

3. Storm Hawks

I’m amazed I even found this show, because it used to come on really early in the mornings. It followed the adventures of a team of teenage misfits who traveled around their fantasy world on missions and battling some of the best cartoon villains ever created. The main mode of transportation is fight, everything runs off of energy powered by crystals and there's even an origins episode that explains the events of a war that happened a decade earlier. Much backstory, such wow. It survived for two seasons, and left everyone dangling on a huge cliffhanger… like, seriously, they could totally renew this for a third season and just pick up right back where they left off.

4. Burn Notice

This show managed to hold on for seven seasons, and it was probably because of the awesome plot. It followed Michael Weston, a spy whose identity was discovered, leaving him “burned,” with no money and no job history. Using his skills he learned from the CIA, along with his his former-Navy Seal friend and arms dealing ex-girlfriend, Michael helps people in Miami with jobs they can’t take to the cops, like violent loan sharks and intimidating drug dealers. Besides that, his Dodge Charger easily competes with Supernatural's "Baby" for the title of "Iconic Black American Muscle Car."

5. The Office

You can’t tell me you never laughed when you watched this show. From Jim’s pranks, to Michael’s crazy antics, it was hard to watch this with a straight face. The show thrived for nine seasons, but for some sad reason, it didn’t get renewed. Maybe Dwight had something to do with that.

6. Kim Possible

Let's be honest, who didn't want to be a crop-top wearing spy with a hairdryer grappling hook? I grew up watching this show. Kim was the reason I loved spies as a kid, and even when I got older (notice previously-mentioned shows). We were all rooting for her and Ron. Kim was on TV for four seasons and even had two awesome movies.

7. How I Met Your Mother

I started out watching this show when there was nothing else good on TV, and it quickly became one of my favorites. Lily and Marshall were the ultimate relationship goals, and Robin Sparkles was there to remind us of all our embarrassing moments we never want to experience again.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
