Going to college, especially away from home, can be such an easy way to gain weight without even knowing. After wearing leggings for months, you realize your biggest pair of jeans can't even make it past your thighs. When winter hits, you promise yourself that you're going to do whatever it takes to get that summer body. These are seven struggles that every college student has when they get determined to lose weight:
1. Everything unhealthy tastes so good.
Going to the dining halls, your healthy options are limited. Then you see pizza, fries, ice cream: it becomes hard to resist.
2. Peer pressure
You meet up with your friends for a movie night, and everyone offers you chips, ice cream or popcorn. How can we say no?
3. The gym can be intimidating
Walking into the gym with a determined mindset and then realizing you have no idea what you're doing. Sometimes we stare at the people next to us to figure out how to work the machine.
4. Being broke
The worst feeling is going to the supermarket where everything organic, low fat or healthy is extremely expensive. It's so much easier to just buy Oreos and Twinkies.
5. Beer
Not only is beer cheap, it's extremely unhealthy. If you like to go out and party and trying to lose weight, stay away from the beer. You can end up with a "beer belly."
6. Ordering junk food after going out every night
Whether it's pizza, calzones or any other greasy unhealthy foods, we all crave fatty foods after going out.
7. It's hard finding time to go to the gym
Trying to balance all your school work, homework, a job, clubs and a social life, it becomes difficult making time to go to the gym.
There are many struggles we face while trying to get back into shape. If we power through these seven easy habits, we'll all be babes by summer time. Happy exercising!
