6 Signs That You Are An Overly Organized Student

Sometimes becoming organized is a stress in itself.

Happy Planner

We all have our ways of being organized. Depending on what kind of learner you are, there are various ways that we take notes, study, and complete assignments. As the semester begins, I am realizing that there are certain ways that I stay organized, sometimes too organized. But hey, whatever gets the job done right?

If you're anything like me...

1) You have a very detailed planner.

I have each class color coded, and each class has its own little box. Work is a separate color and so is any other extra activities I may partake in. Looking for a planner? I recommend the Happy Planner. It comes with stickers! Every organized girls dream.

2) You color code your notes.

The Paper Mate flair tip colored pens are my life.

3) You make a post it list of what you have to do throughout the day in the order it has to be done.

Don't believe me? Just ask my roommate. There is always one on my wall.

4) If your notes do not turn out like you want them to, or your handwriting doesn't seem neat enough, you write your notes over.

It's worth the time I promise. Having the same handwriting throughout your notes while studying is pretty satisfying.

5) You can only get the 5 subject notebook with the clear pocket in the beginning of each section. That way you can print them out and put them at the beginning of each section.

Which leads me to my final point...

6) The syllabus sheet with all of the assignments is your holy grail. As soon as they come out online, you print them out and get to highlighting.

So if your new years/semester resolution is to become more organized, I hope this gave you some ideas to get rolling. If you become more organized it can help with stress and time management, but create an unhealthy obsession with any office supply store.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
