6 Things We Can Learn From Kids

6 Things We Can Learn From Kids

When you're a kid, life is so easy. You have no responsibilities and every time is play time. When you're a kid, you look forward to growing up, which makes no sense because all you want when you're grown up is to be a kid. Well, grown ups these days could take a few pointers from the youngsters that flood our playgrounds - at least I know I could. When you're an adult, everything stresses you out, whether it's school or work or your love life. If we just lived life a little bit more like a kid and less like a frantic adult, we would live much happier and healthier lives.

1. Be nice to everybody.

Kids like everyone because they don't see the bad in the world. If we were as nice to everyone as kids are, then there would be a lot less hate in this world. It's unrealistic to believe you're going to like everyone you meet, but it takes a lot more effort to go out of your way to be mean to someone than it is to be nice.

2. Naps are overrated.

No kid ever wants to take a nap, regardless if they seem to need it or not. People need to stop sleeping their lives away and get out there and start living. You're not going to look back on your life and think, "Wow, I'm really glad I took all those naps." Get up and go do something you can tell your kids about.

3. It's OK to be spoiled.

Kids are spoiled. There's no denying that. If your mom wants to take you shopping, let her. If your grandma wants to buy you a new TV, let her, because it's ok to be spoiled, especially when you're struggling to pay rent and you haven't gone grocery shopping in 4 weeks. Let yourself be spoiled. It's not a bad thing when you appreciate it.

4. Be honest.

There is nothing better than being an all-around honest person. Kids are the most honest creatures on this planet next to Simon Cowell - and there's a reason why he's so good at his job. Everyone respects an honest human being and by being honest, people will always come to you for advice and want your opinion.

5. It's OK to cry.

Kids cry a lot. Maybe too much, but sometimes that's exactly what we need: a good cry. It's OK to feel emotional. It's human and crying will only help you to feel alive. So if you need to just let it out, there's no shame in crying every now and then.

6. You can never have too many friends.

When you're a kid you invite your entire class to your birthday party because that's how many friends you have. Life is so much more enjoyable when you have a lot of people around you to enjoy it with. Don't be afraid to make friends because the last thing you want to be in this crazy world is lonely.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
