Days off are awesome, but sometimes it's hard to come up with ideas on what to do other than watch Netflix and eat Taco Bell. However, with so many options out there, days off should not be spent only on the couch eating junk food. Whether it's a three day weekend or just another ordinary weekend, here is list of things to do during your time off. Some of them require little effort or money, while others require a little more planning in advance, but nonetheless they are all enjoyable ways to spend time off.
1. Visit a Friend
Visiting a friend is always a good use of your time off. Whether they live 15 minutes or a couple of hours away, it is a great idea to stop in on a friend and catch up. The good part of visiting a friend is that you can normally do so without much planning.
2. Take a Road Trip
If you have a little more time to plan for your time off, then a road trip is a fun idea. Grab a few friends and drive to a cabin in North Carolina or a beach in Miami. You could also be spontaneous and take a day trip to a local beach or tourist spot like St. Augustine.
3. Hammock
If you are looking to do something involving little effort, hammocking is a great idea. All you have to do is find a great spot and set it up. Bring along a good book and some blankets and have an enjoyable afternoon.
4. Have a Spa Day
Use time off to show some love to yourself. Go out and get mani/pedis and facials. If you are trying not to spend too much money you can have a cheap spa day by painting your own nails and picking up some cheap facial masks at your local CVS.
5. Treat Yo' Self
As Tom and Donna from the great show Parks and Rec have taught us, it is important to take time to "Treat yo' self." Do this by spending money on something you normally wouldn't- like an expensive pair of shoes or an extremely nice meal.
6. Watch Netflix and Eat Taco Bell
While it is not great to spend every weekend sitting on the couch eating junk food and watching T.V., sometimes you have to be completely lazy and do nothing.
