6 Things That All Customer Service Workers Have Dealt With
Business to Community

As a customer service worker, you have to deal with many people a day. The customers determine if you have a good day at work or not. If you go to work and everyone you talked to was being nice and not yelling at you, then you had a good day. But when people are yelling at you or arguing with you, then you have a bad day. The one thing I learned after working as a call taker for two years is to always say everything slowly and make sure you enunciate every word. Most of the time when I told people I couldn't understand them they thought yelling in the phone would make me understand them. Also, everyone knows the saying "the customers are always right." You don't know how much it gets under customer service workers' skin, because there are many times the customers aren't right. Below is a list of some things all customer service people have to deal with on a daily basics.

1. Rude Customers

We've all had rude customers. You don't even have to do anything to them for them to start fighting with you. I don't know why customers want to fight with someone who is trying to help them?

2. Customers Asking To Speak To Your Manager

My manager is going to tell you the same thing I just told you.

3. Having Trouble Understanding People

Communication is key at a job in customer service, so when you can't understand the customer it gets very frustrating.

4. When Your Shift Is Over, But You Need To Stay Over Time To Help The Customers

There has been many times it has been dead at work, and then when it was the last 5 minutes of my shift it started getting busy and you have to stay longer to help the customers until your relief is 100% ready to take over.

5. Customers Yelling At You For Something You Can't Control.

There has many times were I got yelled at for something another coworker did or for something another department in our business did.

6. Meeting/talking to cool people.

Even though you have to meet/talk with many mean customers, there are many nice customers as well. I love when I'm working, and the customers are nice. It makes my day go easier and less stressful. So shout out to all the awesome customers out there. Also if your nice to me it makes me want to help you out a lot more.

So customers that are reading this please have sympathy for the Customer Service Workers. We know you are frustrated and upset, but if you talk to us nicely we will help you with all we can. To all the customer service workers reading, this I hope I'm pretty accurate with what I'm saying.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
