Most people think that there are only two kinds of people: extroverts and introverts. However, it isn't always so black and white. You see, there's a third category of us who fall somewhere in the middle of the spectrum: the extroverted introverts. Think you might fall into this category? Here are some tell tale signs that you are an extroverted introvert.
1. Your friends can't get you to shut up, but your peers never hear you talk.
One thing that most extroverted introverts find is that everyone thinks we have a different personality type. While our close friends and family see us as a very extroverted person, our classmates see us as the quiet and shy introvert. Many of us grew up never really knowing which category we fit into.
2. We love spending time with people, but we need our alone time.
Extroverted introverts are all about balance. We need time to recharge after spending time with people or in big groups. Without the time to recharge we will become really cranky.
3. Meeting new people is stressful.
There's nothing more an extroverted introvert hates than small talk, especially because that usually means we have to talk to someone new. This is always stressful because we are never quite sure how to act or what to say.
3. We are picky about who our friends are.
We are still introverts after all, and introverts tend to be too intimidated or annoyed by extroverts. We pick very carefully who we choose to associate ourselves with.
4. We look for relationships that last.
Extroverted introverts aren't the ones to call when you want to Netflix and chill. We give our all in the relationships that we have and we only want to be with people who are in it for the long run.
5. Being trapped is our biggest fear.
If we can drive to a social event of any kind, we will. We want the option to leave as soon as we start to feel drained socially.
6. We're always stuck between wanting to go out and wanting to stay in.
Sometimes the idea of socializing and hanging out with people sounds great, until we realize that we have to get dressed and actually talk to people. It's always a struggle trying to decide what to do and we usually wait until the last minute to decide if we're going or not.
