6 Reasons Your Cat Is So Important

1. They Eat Just As Often As You Do

As you go downstairs to grab your favorite snack ,you'll hear a loud "crunch, crunch" noise and as you look over you'll notice your small 7-pound cat, devouring a bowl bigger than her head of cat food. She's obviously your cat if all she does is eat! You have to be proud of her, she can eat her body weight in food that's your kind of cat!

2. They Get Moody Too

Cats, much like us, go from the "love me! pay attention to me!" stage to the "I'll scratch you if you touch my head again" really fast. They only can handle so much "aren't you a pretty kitty!" compliments and neck scratches before they just decide they're done with you. Most likely they'll hiss at you as you try to apologize for being annoying, but they don't want any part of that so they'll just run away from you and hide under your Christmas tree.

3. Their Naps Are All Day Events Too

On a cold, snowy, December day all you can think about is crawling into bed and taking a nice long nap in your onesie pajamas. Your cat has the same exact idea! As you hear a little paw hitting your door then the soft "meow!" you know its nap time! You're "nap" will most likely take up your whole day, but that okay your cat won't judge you for staying in bed all day!

4. They Like To Talk A Lot

Most people think cats don't make much noise, but if you're a real cat parent you know that they chatter just as much as you do! They want to be heard, even though you have no idea what they're saying you just roll with it!

5. They're Great Listeners

When you're just to the point in the day when you get back from a long day at work and all you want to do is vent to someone, the best person to go to is your cat! You'll tell them about how you can't handle dealing with customers anymore and she'll just stare at you with a blank face and occasional blink. Your cat may not be responding, but hey they stuck around and listened!

6. They're Always There For You When You're Sad

Some days you'll just come home in tears and just want to be alone. But as you lay down on your bed and get teary eyed they'll calmly crawl up on your stomach and lay down to remind you that everything is going to be alright!

You cat will love you on your good and bad days and will make you smile everyday! They're basically the whole reason why you come home from school!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
