Every year, Tallahassee Magazine puts out their “Best of Tallahassee”, which is a collective list of Tallahassee’s best of the best, the cream of the crop. CollegeTown’s Madison Social snagged the spot for best bar in Tallahassee for 2014. Breaking almost every mold when it comes to atmosphere, social media, advertising, and customer satisfaction, here are six reasons why Madison Social will break the mold, yet again, and continue to get bigger and better in 2015.
1. Atmosphere. Before everyone knew about all the other perks that Madison Social had to offer, we were all brought in by the industrial style building and the great outdoor space. We judged the book by its cover and it did not disappoint. The music is always amazing and ever-changing, with the occasional live band to mix things up. With two different bars, getting a drink is always easy and the staff members have a great attitude. The highlight of the building has to be the garage doors that are always open to let in fresh air and allow easy outside seating.
2. Their social media is genius. Any restaurant or establishment can keep patrons involved by updating Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. However, it takes something special to be actively commenting on Facebook posts or tweets that were not directed at them. Madison Social’s social media director is absolutely amazing, spending time responding to their customers via social media, whether it is a simple “people helping people” response to a tweet about something great that happened to someone’s day, or to tell a customer who tweeted about a bad day to come on in and enjoy themselves.
3. The happiest happy hour. We get it, chugging fishbowls and y-bombs and getting #faded by 7 p.m. is a blast, but being able to spend a few hours without a sloppy 18 year old spilling their bright red drink all over my white top makes my happy hour a little better. Not to mention, Madison Social’s drink selection is much more delicious and pairs really well with BLT dip, so I can get my buzz and my munch on all at one place while hanging out with people whose company I can actually enjoy. Not to mention, they don’t limit happy hour to just an hour, or even a day. Their happy hour just got a little longer, and that, as Madison Social would say, is people helping people.
4. Brunch. Eggs baked in caramelized onion, herbs, tomato, feta with a rustic baguette is a Greek egg skillet. Chocolate battered french toast and housemade berry butter is "fancy toast". Chocolate chip, banana and Guinness waffle, maple-glazed chicken tenders with a Guinness reduction is Guinness Chicken and Waffles. One brunch item and two brunch cocktails for only $19.99. Do I need to go on?
5. Tribe Cards. FSU athletics and Madison Social go together like brunch and bloody marys, and this friendship is materialized into the Tribe Card. For only $9.99, anyone 21+ can purchase a tribe card which can be redeemed for a free domestic draught or well drink during any FSU home or televised away men’s football, basketball or baseball game and for women’s soccer, basketball, and volleyball game. Going in for the drink is easy; leaving after you finish the first is the hard part.
6. Entertainment and promotions. Whether it is weekly trivia night, watch parties for the premiere of your favorite television show, or one of the multiple random promotions Madison Social offers during the week, there is always a reason to stop by and have a good time. There are also amazing social themes a few times each semester that can sometimes have you walking out the door with one of their many social drinker shirts or a tribe or gift card.
