For those who have an older brother, you know it's a crazy and emotional rollercoaster. Sometimes you'll have a crazy bond 'sesh' over your favorite things and interests. But sometimes all you want to do is choke them out until they scream uncle! But with all of that chaos that comes with having an older brother, there are upsides.

1. They're wise

You may not think so now, but when the time comes, they are. They have been through everything and usually know everything about anything. Their advice can go a long way if you really just actually sit down and listen. Since you're brother was probably in college before you were, they know exactly what they're talking about. If you're lucky enough to have your brother spew this wisdom, don't cover your years and make unusal sounds, listen and really hear what they have to say. Never be afraid to ask, it will help you in the long run.

2. You can be silly with them

Having a sibling is probably hands-down one of the best things ever. You can be unbelievably crazy with them and they wouldn't judge you. There is no other person you'd rather make fun of your parents with. The amount of inside jokes you have can really surprise anyone. It's really great to have someone who can really understand and tolerate your weirdness. Especially because you can embrace theirs.

3. He taught you about boys

If there is anything brothers know best, it's boys. They know how they work and what they're about. So when you think you're bringing "the one" home and your brother isn't having it, then you know. Your brother knows best. Even if you don't agree with with him, he will always be right about that kind of stuff. He should know, he is one!

4. They'll always protect you

It's a man's natural instinct to protect their loved ones. So, if there is that one girl in class that's giving you a hard time or that one creepy guy who won't stop staring at you from across the room, you can always count on your brother to stand up and look out for you.

5. They'll always be there for you

For when you have a bad day at school, that boy breaks your heart, or just feeling down, they will always be here for you. You don't even have to say anything half the time, they just know by the look of your face. There is nothing better than the feeling of when the person who knows you better than anyone else helps you in your time of need. When you have a problem, there is nothing too big or too small they can't handle.

6. They'll never stop loving you

As I said before, having an older brother is the best. From the moment you were born to this day, there is no other special bond you could have with the person you know the most. You may fight, scream, and just downright hate each other for a bit; but you'll always be his little sister.
