Christmas, New Years Eve, Thanksgiving, and Easter are all some of the top holidays that are celebrated in the States, and they are all great don't get me wrong; who doesn't love friends, family, food and gifts? You know the best holiday out of all though? Halloween! I'm going to share with you why Halloween is the best of the best.
1. Halloween Movies
Scary and creepy and even cute Halloween movies. Beetlejuice, Nightmare Before Christmas, Halloween Town, Freddy VS Jason along with many more wonderful Halloween movies. Yes you can watch them at any time if you have Netflix or have them on DVD, but it means Halloween is really here when you see them on the TV.
2. Candy, Candy, Candy
All the best candy comes out when Halloween rolls around. I'm talking candy by the pounds: five,10, even 15 lbs of candy. Chocolate, lollipops, gummies, and candy corn!
3. Costumes
Who doesn't love dressing up? I love seeing what people come up with when they go to parties and I love seeing what all the little kids are dressed up when they come trick-or-treating for candy. I like seeing people going all out when they make their own costume. Getting to be something other the "normal" for a day....or two...maybe even three...I'd dress up all the time if I could.
4. Haunted Attractions
Who doesn't love walking around in the dark and having things pop out at you, making you scream as they scare you even it's it just a little. Or if you are like me you take your friends and watch them get scared as you just stand there and laugh at them or other people who are scared. Haunted houses, corn mazes and even haunted pumpkin patches with haunted hay rides. Do them all through all of October.
5. Halloween Parades
Who doesn't love sitting on the curb watching all these really cool floats that all kinds of people took time out of their day to help build? You see lots of neat lights and costumes from the people on the float or walking next to it and if you are lucky you get free candy thrown at you!
6. Halloween Parties
Friends in costume, lots of Halloween themed food and drinks and candy! Halloween games and nighttime fires with ghost stories and ending the night watching scary movies or falling asleep under the stars. You can even give awards out for best costume, cutest costume, sexiest costume and best scary costume. At the end of the night as long as everyone is laughing and having a good time is when you know you threw the best Halloween party.
Halloween, though it only has one date on the calendar, for some of us takes place the minute is turns into the 1st of October and it goes until the 1st of November. So as October rolls around keep one thing in mind.....
