Contain your excitement everyone because fall is officially here. That’s right, in case you haven’t heard (which I hope you all have), September 22nd marked the beginning of the best season of the year. I don’t know about you, but after months of soaking up the sun at the beach and bopping around town in shorts and flip flops, I’m ready for some sweater weather, some leaves on the ground, and some pumpkin patch visits. Brace yourselves because I am about to tell you why fall is the BEST season of the year:
1. The Pumpkin Spice Latte.
Nothing says fall like a surplus of Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte ads. Let’s be honest with ourselves for a minute and admit that the reason we knew fall had begun was not because we checked our calendars but rather because we saw one of the many Starbucks ads. After that we kissed the summer sun goodbye and never looked back. Now of course, you’ve gotta get at least one every day because they’re only here for the season!
2. The Pumpkin Patch.
The pumpkin patch is easily my favorite place. Seriously though, it’s not fall until you’ve gone to the pumpkin patch, picked out a nice plump one, bought one of those carving kits, gone home and carved a bad ass jack o’lantern to put in front of your door. Oh and those cute little mini pumpkins are always fun to scatter throughout your home and on your desk at work too.
3. Halloween.
Halloween is one of the best holidays. There is no other day where adults have an excuse to dress up in ridiculous outfits and go around eating candy. The whole atmosphere on Halloween night is so exciting with people out and about everywhere and houses decked out in awesome decorations.
4. Thanksgiving.
Seriously fall is just full of holidays and they all bring families and friends together. Thanksgiving kicks off the official holiday season and is just such a cozy time. Not to mention all of the delicious food. Be sure to save some of those pumpkins you got from the pumpkin patch to make pumpkin pie for the family. You won’t regret it.
5. Sweater Weather.
Finally people WE CAN WEAR PANTS AND SWEATERS AND BOOTS AGAIN. Don’t get me wrong, summertime is great but after a while you just want to grab that pumpkin spice latte, put on a cozy sweater and some warm socks, and bundle up in a blanket next to the fire place with a good book and an autumn scented candle burning next to you. Time to turn off the AC, put away those standing fans, and curl up with either a cozy blanket, a pet, or a loved one because it’s cuddle season.
6. Leaves.
This is probably my favorite part of fall. There is nothing more beautiful than the leaves changing from green to a crisp red, yellow, and golden brown before falling from their branches and scattering all over the ground. Walking across campus on a crisp October morning and crunching through some colorful leaves on the ground literally makes my day. Plus, as Calvin Harris once said, “We fell in love as the leaves turned brown”. He knows what's up.
