Dogs are absolutely amazing animals that have been given to us by God. I certainly hope that you feel the same love and adoration that I feel for them and if you don't, here are a few reasons that you should. Trust me, a dog will positively impact your life.
1.Your dog will literally be your best friend.
Your dog can (and will) literally become your best friend. They will hang out with you as much as you want them to and they will be happy to do it. They will always be willing to support you, listen to you, and help you take on the day just like a best friend should.
2.Your dog is actually excited about exercising.
Even when I don’t want to go for a run, I can ask my dog and she is already out the door. Your dog understands the fun in exercising and will motivate you to do the same. Who doesn’t love an exercise buddy that’s going to be by your side the whole time cheering you on anyway?
3.Your dog is always excited to see you.
No matter how long you are gone or whether you are just on the other side of the door or 1000 miles away, your dog will be excited to see you. Every single time I walk in the door my dog runs to greet me and acts like I haven’t seen her in a year. Since I have gone off to college, I have learned to appreciate how excited she is, because I am just as excited to be reunited with my best friend.
4.Your dog will demand your attention.
You may be wondering how this is a positive aspect of dogs. You might be thinking, "this would be great if I had enough attention to give to my attention-starved dog." However, it is also a privilege to be wanted by someone, even if it is a dog. Dogs have a way of making you feel loved even when you don’t want to give them attention. Even though you may be trying to eat your dinner or watch a movie, it is comforting to find your dog’s nose gently resting on your leg.
5.Your dog won't judge you.
Whether you are into Pokémon at age 30 or you are the biggest San Antonio Spurs fan that the world has ever known, your dog isn’t going to judge you. Your dog is going to accept you for who you are and you don’t have to worry about whether or not you’re going to be accepted by your dog. Don’t forget that your dog wants to be accepted too so make sure that they feel accepted for their weird behavior as well.
6.Your dog loves you.
As long as you treat your dog right, your dog will love you with all of their little heart. Dogs seem to have a new perspective on loving others that I think that we can learn a lot from. Your dog will do their best to make sure that you feel like you are their number one priority and you should do the same.
Remember that your dog may only be a small part of your life, but you are their entire life. So, go give your dog a hug and make sure that they know how much you care about them.
