Coming from someone who has gone from adorable toddler to dramatic pre-teen to young adult, I can honestly say that you do not want to get older. So you have exams, stress, and real-life problems? Little kids surely don't worry about silly things like that. If that alone doesn't sway you, here's a few reasons why you really just shouldn't bother growing up at all.
1. There are no major life decisions
As a young child, "life decisions" consisted of picking what you want for dessert, and life's biggest letdowns were when your parents said you couldn't have any tonight. Unfortunately, "what do you want for dessert?" has turned into "what do you want to do with your life?" and your parents rejecting dessert is now employers rejecting your job applications.
2. There are limited expectations
Back in the good ole days, properly dressing yourself, tying your own shoes, and coloring inside (or even outside) of the lines were means to celebrate. Nowadays, being the president of at least 3 clubs with a 4.0 GPA while also volunteering with the homeless are what you need to be praised.
3. Everything you do is cute
Get spaghetti sauce on your pudgy little 3-year-old forehead? Adorable! Get spaghetti sauce on your almost-wrinkled-due-to-college-stress 18-year-old forehead in the cafeteria? Not so cute.
4. The career options are truly endless
You can be a cowboy, a princess, an astronaut ... anything is possible! The opportunities are simply unlimited. Now, even work experience and a college degree can't guarantee a thing.
5. Clothing is optional
Not feeling that shirt today? That’s ok! Not in the mood for pants? No problem! Waddle around in your cute little diaper all you want, because the older you get, the less “appropriate” that becomes.
6. There is so much to believe in
Wasn't the world just that much more magical when Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, and the tooth fairy came with chocolate, money, and presents every year? As time goes on, the world becomes a little less enchanting when you realize there isn't a jolly old man or a little fairy bearing gifts.
So, from my first-hand experience with getting older, I highly suggest you do your best to stay a toddler forever. Trust me.
