The time that passes without seeing your long distance best friend does not affect how close you two are. You are not friends out of convenience but they are rather a soulmate. Though it would be nice to have this person go to school with you or live nearby, having a BFF that lives in another state or country definitely has its perks.

1. They give the best advice

You can rant to your long distance BFF about anything. They have no bias about the friends or boys you are dealing with. As an outsider, they see the bigger picture and do not have preconceived notions that would sway them a certain direction. You can tell your long distance best friend just about anything, trust them with your secrets, and be at ease that they will not go tell someone… who would they go tell anyway? Long distance best friend, you always seem to know the right thing to say.

2. Always have an excuse to travel

A trip to visit your best friend is never a bad excuse to travel… and a free place to stay is always a plus. You have to experience their way of life and make up for the missed sleepovers. After visiting each others' homes too many times, you start planning trips to other destinations. Wherever you are, you know you will have a good time. No matter the distance, you feel right at home when you’re with your best friend.

3. Have a lot of time to plan

Whether you and your long distance best friend see each other every six months or once every five years, you have quite a bit of time to ensure that you have a blast when you’re together. Time apart is often spent talking about the next time you see each other. You can plan your stay with activities that you saw on your friend’s Instagram or Facebook, and always wanted to experience yourself.

4. Time you have together is more cherished

Like a long distant boyfriend/girlfriend, a long distance best friend makes the time spent together all the more special. You have likely known each other for a great chunk of your life, and when you do get the chance to see eachother again, you pick up right where you left off. Once you are apart, nothing is better than reminiscing about the good times you had together.

5. Have someone to brag/complain about the weather to

Of course your friends at home know how the weather is, but you can always count on your long distance BFF to send you pictures complaining of a heat wave or celebrating the first day of snow. In my case, every time it rains in Southern California, I like to send my best friend in Michigan a snapchat. I’m sensing that she’s getting annoyed of my fascination with water falling from the sky.

6. Never get sick of each other

Chances are, you don’t get to see each other too often and therefore, don’t have enough time to get in fights. I know my long distance BFF will be my friend forever. Time together is limited, so why be negative? If you are the ultimate pair, you may get in tiffs here and there but, they could never get in the way of your special friendship.

I would not give up my long distance best friend for the world. Ideally, we could live closer but that doesn't stop us from being the best of friends. Distance means so little, when a friendship means so much.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
