To many of us, our hometowns will always be the best towns. After all, they don’t just take up space on a map, but space in our hearts as well. Breaks are the greatest times, because we get to return to our home-towns and all the glory they hold.
1. You become a back home baller
When coming home for breaks your family treat you like royalty. Nevermind the fact that for the last 20 years of your life you had enough chores to be considered a child laborer. When you're home for breaks you feel like you own the world due to the fact that your parents are all to eager to make up lost time by doing anything and everything with you.
2. Free food
Being in college drives most of us to a point where our bank accounts begin to match our GPA's. Not to mention that most of us are not the culinary experts we believed we could be. So any sort of free food is the best food. And being at home means that there are cabinets full of free food that is yours for the taking.
3. Reuniting with Pets
For many of us being back home with our dogs almost beats everything else on this list. Dogs are always the happiest to see us. And dogs will never ask you questions about who your boyfriend is, how your grades are doing, or why your a senior and still haven't worked off the freshmen 15. Dogs will always love you no matter what. Case closed.4. Home Town Homies
Going to different colleges has split up your high school friend group across the country. Being home means you get to reunite with your best friends from high school. Cutting out time to visit friends at other schools can be extremely hard, but winter break means that everyone is back in one place, and you can all be back home ballers together. Home town friends are some of the greatest friends because you grew up with them and they have their own special place in your heart.
5. Shopping
If your like me, and your college town leaves you missing the Target you used to call home, being home is the greatest because you get to shop at all of your favorite stores. There's nothing like shopping at the mall you used to spend all your time at in high school. Also, your parents are usually willing to buy you almost anything when your home if it means you'll be spending time with them. Once again people, free stuff is the best stuff.
6. Family
Last and most importantly on this list is family. While college is some of the greatest years of our lives, nothing can beat all the memories we get to make with our families over the break. Families love unconditionally, and after a jam-packed semester we could all use a little TLC.
