I've had my "lucky little" board on Pinterest for, like, a year, and I started crafting over Christmas.
Yeah, I take this s**t seriously. But taking on a little is more than just an excuse to paint cheesy canvases and put together more bows and Lilly than most people can stomach. It's a promise to a person that you'll take care of her and love her to the (crescent) moon and back, forever and always. So, little one, I know I don't know you yet, but here's my promise to you.
1. I promise to shower you with gifts
Brace yourself for big-little week, Christmas, your birthday and so on, because you are a princess and I intend to spoil you as such.
2. I promise to always give you the best advice I can
I'm not known for making the best decisions for myself, but advice I can do. I've made a lot of mistakes, but I've learned a good deal of valuable things along the way. Do as I say, not as I do, right? I promise to listen to you and guide you as best I can, always.
3. I promise to always be on your side
We all make mistakes, and even though you're perfect (because you're my little, duh), I know you do too. And when you do, I promise to never judge you, to reassure you that you are a good person, and to always be on your side.
4. I promise to always be there for you no matter what
Whether you need someone to share your Starbs with or a shoulder to cry on, whether you lost your keys and it's 3 a.m. or you just feel lonely, through thick and thin, I'll be there. Cue the Jackson 5.
5. I promise that we will take ALL of the clichéd big-little pictures
The lin pic, the crescent, the throw what you know, big & little shirts, you on my shoulders... They're all happening. Even if I have to force you (and you know I will).
6. I promise to be as good a big to you as my big is to me
This promise will be the hardest to keep, because my big is the best big under the sun - obvi. One of the reasons I'm making all these promises, is that I can't find another way to thank my big enough than to give you everything she has given me. Can't hurt to try, can it?
I'm counting down the days till I meet you, little one.
Love,
Your big
