Summer vacation has come, and you find yourself with nothing to do but eat, sleep, and watch Netflix. But what to watch? You've asked your friends over and over again for suggestions, but they've never recommended anything solid. I present to you, 6 Netflix shows (that you'll love) to binge over summer vacation.
1. Stranger Things
Stranger Things is a great show if you are looking for something interesting, but short. It only has 8 episodes. But be warned, those 8 episodes hold a ton of information. The story follows a group of friends in 1983. I won't spoil anything, but when one of them ends up going missing, the rest of them go on a thrilling chase to find him. They also end up discovering many secrets on along the way. It's classified as a science-fiction horror series, so it can get a little creepy at times.
2. The OA
The OA is another one of those short, but interesting Netflix series. Coming in with only 8 episodes as well, its defiantly one that you won't want to end. Filed into the mystery/drama genre, its definitely a head scratcher. This series also harbors traits of science fiction. The show centers are Prairie Johnson, a 17 year old blind girl who had been missing for 7 years. But when she suddenly shows back up in her home town, people are shocked. They are even more shocked at the fact that she is able to see again. The story unearths what happened to her in those 7 years, as well as some of her back story.
3. Supernatural
If you are looking for something longer to binge, Supernatural is defiantly it. Coming in at 12 seasons, its a show that will keep you busy. Season 1-11 are available now to watch on Netflix. This is a show I'm sure that you've heard of, but you probably haven't sat down to watch. The two main characters in this show are two brothers named Sam and Dean Winchester. They hunt monsters; or as they would say "Saving people, hunting things, the family business." That quote says it all. Sam and Dean hunt all of the monsters that you've heard about. Demons, Wendigos, and even Bigfoot. Along with all of the monsters they hunt, their own personal stories are intertwined into the monster hunting madness. It's a show that will either leave you crying, laughing, or begging for more.
4. Grey's Anatomy
Grey's Anatomy is probably another one of those shows that you have heard about. A lot of people have watched this series, but a lot of people haven't. This show is another long one, coming in at 13 seasons (1-12 available on Netflix.) The show follows Dr. Meredith Grey, a first year intern at Settle Grace hospital. This show is one that you are bound to fall in love with. You see so many medical cases, and so many relationships blossom. But beware, it will leave you sobbing in bed with a pint of ice cream from time to time.
5. Sherlock
This version of the famous Sherlock Holmes series comes from across the pond by BBC. Starring Benedict Cumberbatch as the infamous Sherlock Holmes. The series has 4 seasons in it, each season has 3 episodes. Now I know what you are thinking "Three episodes, thats it?" Well, yes. But there is defiantly a twist. Each episode is roughly an hour and a half long. So basically, each of these episodes is the length of a movie. This series is beautifully done, the cinematography is on point, and the acting is amazing. Each episode tells one of Sherlock's stories written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Sherlock is full of drama, action, and mystery.
6. Scream: The Tv Series
Scream: The Tv Series is a modern take on the infamous Scream slasher movies. With 2 seasons (both available on Netflix) and 10 episodes per season, it will keep you busy for a while. As you can imagine, its a thriller/horror show. At the center of the story is a group of teenagers. Instigated by a cyberbullying incident that goes viral, a brutal murder in Lakewood stirs memories of a crime spree from the town's past that has haunted some, intrigued others and maybe just spawned a new executioner. The group of teenagers struggle to find out who the new slasher is, all while dealing with things that your average high schooler would deal with. This show has it's fair share of jump scares, but ultimately will leave you on the edge of your seat, begging for more.
6. The Magicians

Happy binging!
