If you are looking for new books to read or looking to start reading more in your free time, you're reading the right article. I've made a list of books I think everyone should read.
"Whenever you read a good book, somewhere in the world a door opens to allow in more light." –– Vera Nazarian
1. "Invisible" by James Patterson (Mystery) –– James Patterson is probably my favorite author. All of his books keep you on edge and you can't put them down. I put this book on the list because it isn't hard to get into and has an awesome plot twist. If you like this, I would recommend reading "Don't Blink," "Zoo," "Now You See Her" and all of the books in the "NYPD RED" series.
2. "Sharp Objects" by Gillian Flynn (Mystery) –– You've probably heard of or seen the movie "Gone Girl." Gillian Flynn is the author of that book. "Sharp Objects" is one of the most well thought out books I have ever read. You have to pay attention to details in the book because even the littlest things are brought together in the end. This book is a little more difficult to get into, but once you do, I can guarantee you won't put it down. If you like Gillian Flynn, you could also read "Dark Places" and "Gone Girl" (it's the same as the movie).
3. "The Last Song" by Nicholas Sparks (Romance) –– We have probably all seen this movie with Miley Cyrus, but the movie leaves out a lot of important pieces of the book. Even if you've seen the movie one hundred times I would recommend reading the book. Nicholas Sparks is a very talented author. All of his books are great so if you like him, you can read all of his stuff, but my other favorites are "A Walk To Remember" and "Safe Haven."
4. "Sundays at Tiffany's" by James Patterson (Romance) –– I know I already put James Patterson on the list, but this book is on here because it is a completely different genre. This book is so good that I stayed up until four in the morning so I could finish it and not have to put it down. This book is great in the beginning, middle and end. James Patterson does it all.
5. "Looking For Alaska" by John Green (Romance) –– John Green is known for "The Fault In Our Stars" and "Paper Towns" (both of which I recommend reading). "Looking For Alaska" is set to be released as a movie in 2017 so make sure you read it before then! This is one of the most unpredictable books I have ever read. It's a little hard to get into, but once you read the first few chapters, you'll be hooked.
6. The "Harry Potter Series" (Fantasy/Thriller) –– If you haven't read any "Harry Potter" book, you should go to the library right now and get all seven of them. Seeing the movies does not count as reading them. J.K. Rowling will change your soul if you read these books. Trust me.
