6 Artists To Ease You Into Country Music

As a country music fan, there is nothing more discouraging than hearing someone utter the words, "Ew, I hate country." I honestly do not see how that can be true, especially since country music now is nothing like how it used to be. It's not just recordings of people singing along to a banjo, I promise.

Also, even though there are songs about it, you don't have to dress in cowboy boots and drive a truck to be a fan. This week, I decided I would try to help bring all you country-haters into the light. Here are some of the best country artists to help ease your way into loving the best music genre out there.

Eric Church

It seems like Eric Church has been around forever. He has so many songs, and it's always good to hear some of his original hits. His music varies from classic country to mainstream. I feel like he'd be a lot of fun and a good time. You'll never see him without sunglasses, but it adds to his cool factor.

Songs to listen to:

"Springsteen"

"Drink In My Hand"

"Sinners Like Me"

"Love Your Love the Most"

Chase Rice

Super hot and a great singer. Need I say more? No, but I will. He went to UNC and played football there. He was also a member of a pit crew team for NASCAR for a little while and was a contestant on "Survivor." Now he's a chart-topping, country-singing heartthrob. Although new to the country music scene, he already has a bunch of hits, and everyone loves him. Also, he remade "Ride" by SoMo, and it's a thousand times better than the original.

Here's a picture of him holding a puppy. Cute, right? The puppy is okay too.

Songs to listen to:

"Gonna Wanna Tonight"

"Ride"

"Carolina Can"

"Ready Set Roll"

Sam Hunt

You've definitely heard his songs before. Every pop radio station plays them, so you actually already like country! He's also very attractive, which seems to be a trend in country music. I bet you're thinking "Where have I been this whole time?!"

Songs to listen to:

"Leave the Night On"

"House Party"

"Take Your Time"

Kelsea Ballerini

People are comparing her music to classic, country TSwift. Her songs are super cute and great to sing along to. They are also low-key country, so they're the perfect jams to help you fall in love with the genre. She's only 22 and already a little star! I feel like she's the kind of person everyone wants to be friends with. I definitely want to be her BFF, and once you listen to her songs, I bet you will too.

Songs to listen to:

"Dibs"

"Love Me Like You Mean It"

Lady Antebellum

Lady A is one of my all time favorites. Every song they have is catchy and somewhat relatable. Most of their songs sound like pop but have a country undertone. It's super hard to pick their best songs, because everything they sing is perfect.

Songs to listen to:

"We Owned the Night"

"American Honey"

"Just A Kiss"

"I Run To You"

Kenny Chesney

He's the cutest, baldest little thing you've ever seen. He's also a phenomenal singer and performer. If you've ever seen him live, you 100 percent got your money's worth. Kenny is just one of those classic artists. He's never recorded a bad song.

Songs to listen to:

"She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy"

"When the Sun Goes Down"

"I Go Back"

"Anything But Mine"

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
