It's easy to sometimes forget all the things our moms do for us. Moms are always there for us, even when we're hours away.

  1. I’m glad I look like you.
  2. Thank God we’re the same size so I can “borrow” your clothes.
  3. And shoes.
  4. And anything else, honestly.
  5. Thank you for always listening to me ramble about my problems.
  6. And pretending like you know every single person I’m talking about.
  7. You have a great sense of style.
  8. So sorry not sorry that I’m constantly buying the exact same things as you.
  9. You’re one of the strongest people I know.
  10. You have a beautiful smile.
  11. Thank you for watching Grey’s Anatomy with me.
  12. And Gilmore Girls.
  13. And Gossip Girl.
  14. Honestly, you’re the Lorelai to my Rory.
  15. Thank you for always teaching me the importance of family.
  16. You’ve given me a great example of a perfect relationship by growing up and seeing you and dad together.
  17. I miss seeing you every day.
  18. But I’m glad you’re only a phone call away.
  19. My memories of us at the pool in the summer are some of my favorite.
  20. I’m thankful for you being a stay-at-home mom and allowing me to have these great memories.
  21. You’ve sacrificed so much for me and my brother.
  22. You’re my favorite person to get brunch with.
  23. And shop with.
  24. And do anything with, tbh.
  25. You’re definitely smarter than I’ll ever be (just ask UPenn!).
  26. You have quite an eye for decorating (with a little help from HGTV).
  27. I’ve never met someone with so many shoes as you.
  28. I admire your commitment to Diet Coke.
  29. Your hair is always on point (especially your tiny ponytail).
  30. I’ve never seen someone dance as much as you do to “Things We Lost in the Fire.”
  31. You are one extremely fast walker.
  32. You always have more plans than I do (boy do you stay busy).
  33. But you still always make time for me.
  34. I’ve never seen someone get so into grade school basketball.
  35. But have also never seen someone clap so hard at theatre events for their daughter who was in the chorus.
  36. I’m glad that I got my peppiness from you.
  37. And my style sense.
  38. And my out-going personality.
  39. And my looks (well, at least half of them, sorry dad).
  40. Even when we’re not entirely sure what “person” I want to be (yeah, sorry about all the major changes and indecision).
  41. You’re always there to remind me that one bad grade isn’t the end of the world.
  42. You always acknowledge that I’m doing my best.
  43. You’re my first call when I’m stressed.
  44. Or sad.
  45. Or happy.
  46. I trust you with everything.
  47. You’re my best friend.
  48. I’m so thankful you’re my mom.
  49. I love you.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
