Ever wish the world was a kinder place? Ever wonder how that could happen? Hint: it starts with you! Without further ado, here are 30 simple ways to brighten up another person's day.

1. Take care of your roommate's dishes for them - but don't say anything about it.

2. Give up your seat to someone on the bus, even if it's not a pregnant woman or an elderly person.

3. Make it your priority to deliver a hug to a friend in need.

4. Call your parents/family to tell them how much you appreciate them.

5. Compliment a stranger.

6. Be kind to the earth and bring a reusable water bottle to school/work instead of a plastic one.

7. Bake cookies for the people you live with.

8. Resist the urge to lose your cool when someone cuts you off in traffic.

10. Give that awkward "thank you" wave when a car lets you cross instead of just ignoring them.

11. Be extra generous with your tip at a restaurant.
