I was lucky enough to spend a few short days with some of my college roommates before we move back. In that time, I realized how much I really missed those girls and how much I can't wait to move in with them again. Here are just some of the amazing benefits of your roommates that you're craving right now.
1. Dragging them into your bed when they try to wake you up.
2. And proceeding to cuddle them as you go back to sleep.
3. Cooking together.
4. Giving up on cooking and eating junk food instead.
4. Watching random YouTube videos.
5. Acting like a little kid to annoy others.
6. Acting like a parent when the others are being annoying little kids.
7. Movie marathons.
8. While cuddling.
9. Making unnecessarily long SnapChat stories.
10. Midnight talks.
11. 1 a.m. talks.
14. 2 a.m. talks.
15. Crashing in the same bed at 3 a.m.
16. While cuddling.
17. Tweeting inside jokes and quotes that no one else would understand.
18. Arguing like an old, married couple.
19. Always having someone to talk to about your day.
20. Always having someone to complain to about your day.
21. Having a second closet (for roommates of the same size).
22. Having someone to ask about your outfit before you go out.
23. Having someone to give you life advice.
24. Planning awesome adventures to have in the future.
25. Even though you know you'll just end up staying at the apartment.
26. Probably at least two of you cuddling, tbh.
27. Comparing your home lives.
28. Explaining things about your home town like they're foreign to the other person (check out Mary-Elizabeth Esquibel's "When The South Met The North" article for more information).
29. Splitting junk food so it doesn't seem like so many calories.
30. Going to the gym together.
31. Swearing that going to the gym together was so great and you should do it more often because you feel so alive and got to bond.
32. Giving up on that whole gym thing because they sell Ben & Jerry's right downstairs and you can bond together over that, right?
33. Having someone's shoulder to cry on when you miss home.
34. Cuddling with them when you're crying about missing home.
35. Boy/guy talk.
36. Girl talk.
37. Talking about your neighbors.
38. Dancing montages.
39. Performing songs at the top of your lungs.
40. Laughing when you hear your neighbors doing the same thing.
41. Shouting when they're on the phone with their parents. ("Mary, put your pants on!")
42. Coming home to a group of people you love seeing.
43. Having someone that will always read your papers.
44. Even if it's after midnight.
45. (Thank you, Christine.)
46. Having someone who doesn't care that you don't wear pants to bed sometimes.
47. Because chances are they probably don't always wear pants to bed, either.
48. Living with someone who is going through the exact same transition as you.
49. And helps you figure it out along the way.
50. And will always be happy to cuddle you when you need it.
