With digital streaming services becoming increasingly more popular, thousands of hours are sucked away from our lives. Here's a few ideas to get out of your usual routine and perhaps enjoy some oft-forgotten pleasures in life

1. Go for a walk outside.

2. Read that book on my shelf I've been wanting to for ages.

3. Call my family.

4. Draw a Zentangle.

5. Play a game of pickup soccer with friends.

6. Light a few candles and listen to indie music.

7. Slack line.

8. Bake something for a friend.

9. Reflect on the past week/month.

10. Write a journal entry.

11. Relax in a hammock.

12. Donate extra possessions that are cluttering my closet (and life).

13. Read my Bible.

14. Paint a canvas.

15. Practice yoga.

16. Learn every word to a song worth remembering.

17. Do homework.

18. Stargaze.

19. Cook dinner with friends or family.

20. Explore a creek.

21. Pick wild flowers.

22. Learn an instrument.

Well, there you have it. While these things are by no means extraordinary or monumental, they are absolutely worth your time and effort.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time.
