Summer is by far one of the best times of the year. No school, late nights, the beach and so much more fills your days. But, summer isn't always all it's cracked up to be. Along with all the great unforgettable moments during summer, there are also the moments you wish you could forget.
1. Mosquitoes
Mosquitoes are the worst things about summer. You can’t avoid getting mercilessly eaten alive by these blood-sucking flying devils. Bug spray doesn’t work. Citronella candles work, if you sit next to them and don’t move. There is no easy fix to dodge getting bitten by mosquitoes. And once you are bitten, it's all downhill from there. Once you notice the itchy bump, it is impossible to ignore. So you scratch it. Then it starts to bleed. Then it gets a scab. And finally, you have a scar for perhaps the rest of your life. Happy summer!
2. Sweat
If you’re anything like me, you sweat. A lot. You are afraid to lift your arms in the summer because of “pit stains.” You constantly need to wipe your face before the sweat drips into your eyes. Everywhere and anywhere you can think of is sweaty. Also, with sweat comes smells. Some people smell downright awful when they sweat, which makes summer the stinkiest of seasons. That can lead to embarrassing situations. Also, it is unpleasant for everyone around the smelly person. Talk about awkward.
3. Not seeing school friends
Perhaps the most tragic part of the summer months. Not being able to see your school pals is really hard. Especially if you live at school, you see each other all the time. You go from all to nothing in just one day. At times, it feels like a part of you has been ripped away. How am I supposed to live without wine nights and my best friends?! But it gives you something to look forward to when you get back to school, and you can make up for lost time at the bars.
4. Bugs
Bugs, in general, are just horrible creatures. Of course, the summer brings out all of the horrors. You can't go two steps without seeing some freaky crawler or annoying flyer. Bugs are literally everywhere once the weather gets warm. Sometimes they even get into your mouth or eyes or even your ears! It might literally be one of the grossest things ever. For some people, this is great because they like bugs. But for us normal people it is hell on earth.
5. Seeing everyone's awesome vacations
Going on Facebook or Instagram and seeing all of your friends (or people you don't even know) go on awesome vacations really sucks. Even worse is seeing all those awesome vacations and being stuck at work. Why can't people be considerate and not post pictures to brag? Why can't they invite me to their Fiji "vacay?" How did they get enough money to do all that without becoming a stripper? Or are they a stripper? These are the important life questions.
