There was nothing quite like coming inside after a long day at the pool, grabbing a bomb pop and sitting down to watch a DCOM. Here are a list of the five worst and five Disney Channel Original Movies in no particular order. Enjoy these blasts from the pasts!

WORST:

1. "Can of Worms"

This movie is just plain weird. First of all, the main character in this movie is a teenager who thinks he is an alien and he starts hallucinating and seeing aliens like an alien lawyer who wants to sue Earth and an English speaking alien dog.

2. "Johnny Tsunami"

This movie isn't terrible, but it is pretty dang bad. It starts off relatively normal when a family is moving from Hawaii to Vermont. Their son, Johnny, is a surfer-turned-snowboarder. He makes new friends that his father does not approve of and his father tells Johnny that he is being moved to Iceland. Unhappy with the decision, Johnny sneaks away to Hawaii on a cargo plane to live with his grandpa, who refuses to let Johnny go back home until his father agrees to let him stay in Vermont.

3. "The Scream Team"

Do I need to even say anything about the plot of this movie for you to know that it's bad? Just take a look at the movie poster!

4. "Hatching Pete"

Again this one isn't terrible, just not good. The movie follows two friends — Cleatus, who is outgoing and talkative, and, Pete, who is completely the opposite. Cleatus is the school mascot who is allergic to the chicken suit that he has to wear. Pete, not wanting to let his friends down, agrees to be the school mascot and ends up doing a great job. A fight ensues when Cleatus gets all the praise for being the mascot when he is just sitting in the bleachers the whole time.

5. "Starstruck"

This one isn't bad at first, but when you think about everything that happens in the movie, it gets kind of creepy. A young girl sneaks into a nightclub to get a chance to meet a Justin Bieber-esque pop star. He ends up slamming a door into her face. He then takes her to the ER and makes her stay at his house for a few hours before taking her home and staying the night in her grandmother's garage.

BEST:

1. "High School Musical"

One of the perks about going to Wayne State is anytime I yell, "What team?" on campus someone can reply with, "Wildcats," and have it apply to actual school sports. Getcha' Head in the Game!

2. "Camp Rock"

My inner tween heart is throbbing at the Jonas Brothers but I am glad they did something with that hair.

3. "Halloweentown"

Proof that Halloween at Disney Channel is the best. I still watch this movie every Halloween.

4. "Twitches"

More proof. This movie convinced me that I was a witch that needed to find her long lost twin sister.

5. "Cadet Kelly"

If you haven't seen this movie by now, I don't know what you are waiting for. This is hands down my favorite Disney movie. It starts Hilary Duff from Lizzie McGuire and Christy Carlson Romano from Even Stevens, two of my favorite actresses growing up.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
