It's Cuffing Season Again

5 Winter Date Ideas

It's winter, which is a time of year that has now been referred to as "cuffing season". This means it's the season in which typically people couple up around the holidays or during cold weather. With this comes the countless dates each couple will embark on during the winter season. Often though, this proves to be a hassle during winter due to the cold weather and frigid temperatures. So here are five winter dates that every couple will enjoy!

1. Ice Skating

Yes, it's cold so you might ask why would anyone want to remain in the freezing temperatures. Even though it is cold, this is a perfect date! You'll be able to hold hands the entire time (for the most part), you can do it for as long as you desire, and it'll be fun to laugh at one another moving unsteadily on skates. It's simple, yet cute.

2. Don't Just Watch A Movie, Recreate One

This one is absolutely adorable and will score highly with your lady. Don't make it anything too extravagant of course! An example of this is the movie "Elf". A couple recreated Buddy's date with Jovie (two of the main characters). The couple drank crappy coffee, ran around looking for Christmas trees in New York, and even spun in a revolving door like they did in the movie! It was so simple, but according to the couple it was the best date they've been on. So I highly recommend this one!

3. Bake Something Sweet Together

There's just something about baking with your significant other...it's cute and you're rewarded with something sweet once the baking process is over! It's the best of both worlds, plus you'll be nice and warm inside, which a huge positive.

4. Game Night

This is a big one, because not only can it be a couple thing, but you can invite friends over and make it a friend game night! Either way, it allows for friendly competition but also for a laid back night in the warmth, which seems great with the weather temperatures falling and the snow covering the ground.

5. Snowball Fights

This one is a favorite because not only does it play into our childlike memory, but it sparks so much excitement within the relationship. This one is cheap and easy, so why not embrace the cold weather and see who can throw a meaner snowball?

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
