*Ahh* A simple cry for help or sigh of relief. It's here. What we've all been waiting for: The end of the semester. Whether you're having three plus mental breakdowns a day, are cool as a cucumber, or are just really over everything that has to do with school and finals, have no fear, we're in the homestretch. Watch out because the long beach days, concert season, and ice cream galore are all in reach.
1. Organize
With all the tests, papers, projects, presentations, etc. building up during the end of the semester, the only way to stay on track is to stay organized. Whether that's your strong suit or not, it's going to help you in the long run. Also it's a really satisfying to cross off something on your to-do list. So that planner you bought back in January as your New Year's resolution? It's about that time.
2. Breaks Are Your Friend
Having your head in your books for a full 12 hours is straining on both mental and physical levels. Your eyes will burn, head will hurt, basically you're going to go insane. Go outside! Go to the gym! Go get a smoothie! Go do something else for an hour! You can afford to, I promise.
3. Balance
Along with all the school work, the end of the year means that there are going to be places you want to go or things you want to do with your friends before everyone leaves for the summer. Balance your work load. You don't want to miss everything, do you? Productive work and relaxation can co-exist. Find that balance and you won't have to have severe FOMO.
4. Work Hard
It's just that, two words. You have a week left. One week out of fifteen. Pull out that bad-ass scholar self of yours and finish off the year.
5. Remember That It Has to End Eventually
Essentially, we're on the up and up. It's closer to summer than it is to another semester.
Moral of the story: work hard, have fun, and treat yourself. Sitting on that beach chair will feel a hell of a lot better knowing you did everything to survive your semester from hell in the most graceful way possible.
