5 Ways To Know If You Are the "Crazy" Family
Jodi Cannon

Okay, I’ll admit it. I am apart of a “crazy” family. Not only am I apart of a “crazy” family, but I am a contributing factor. We’re loud, laugh when we’re not suppose to, and make a lot of crude jokes but I love my family more than anything. Here are some signs that you are the “crazy” family too:

1. Your Friends Laugh From the Moment They Walk In Your House Until the Moment They Leave

Those of us who are apart of a crazy family know this all too well. Your friends always suggest to hangout at your house simply because they get a kick out of your family. They aren’t accustomed to the constant yelling, petty fights, and ridiculous jokes that you play on your family. So, joining in is always a treat. Everyone always wants to go to the person’s house with the crazy family because that’s where all the fun happens, right?

2. You Are The Least Favorite Neighbors On The Street

Let’s face it, there is always a downfall to every good thing. If you are the crazy family on the street chances are your neighbors probably hate you. The loud family fights, the fun parties, or the wild conversations you have on the front porch probably piss them off to no end. The way I look at it is that you cannot please everyone!

3. Everyone Is Always Telling You How Loud You Are

If your family is crazy, you are automatically the loud friend. Everyone is always trying to tell you to “shh” or letting you know you are always the loudest one in the group. But obviously you can’t help it! Speaking loudly is the only way you are going to be heard in your nut house.

4. Playing Jokes On Your Family Is A Part of Everyday Life

Whether it’s popping out at mom or dad around the corner, or purposely hiding something of your siblings just to see their reaction: practical jokes are an often occurrence. Your family gets a kick out of joshing with another family member. It’s always fun playing the joke but it is never fun being the one on the receiving end. Being the one at the butt of the joke always calls for revenge. You could say there is a never-ending cycle of fun and hysterical laughing.

5. You Love Like Crazy

One of the main benefits of being the crazy family is being able to love like crazy. Having passionate emotions and the ability to love like a crazy person is the best part. Although sometimes it can be extra embarrassing, being apart of the crazy family might be the most rewarding thing ever. We laugh louder and love harder. Our fun-loving nature is the key ingredient in living happy and positive lives. I could not ask for a better (or crazier) family!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
