The winter blues are real my friend, very real. For many, spring break has either just passed or is just about to start, but let's be honest, it's only a week. It may seem like forever until summer begins, I know as a high schooler it feels like an eternity away.
Here are a few ways to make summer come faster.
1. Make a mood board
You may be talking about your amazing and intricate plans for summer 2018 now, but if you don't have somewhat of a game plan or at least a general idea of what you want to accomplish, odds are you will be stuck inside scrolling through other people's epic Instagram posts or binge-watching Netflix series. You need some inspiration, whether it be physical pictures on a poster board or a Pinterest board of different ideas. You can even make a Pinterest board with your besties that way you all can share ideas.
2. Commit to plans financially, of course, if possible
This is rough for some people, I know for me I probably should have worked more to have a bit more cash in my pocket, but hey, memories right? Anyways, if you have the ability to spend some money and you and your friends want to go on a short trip or a concert, by all means book/purchase in advance. This way everyone is held accountable, and, the plans will more than likely end up happening.
3. Hit the gym
Now I'm all for the whole bikini body = a body in a bikini, but I know that many, including myself, can often feel insecure when at the beach or going out. If you put in the effort now, you will probably feel better about yourself later on and just think about the all yummy ice cream runs you can make without feeling as guilty! You can even go to the gym with friends, attend a dance class, or just walk your dog and get to feeling so much better on the inside and the outside.
4. Start eating cleaner and more colorful foods
It's spring, which means the more fruit and veggies that are in season. As summer comes along even more of these types of foods will be better available in stores, or even at your local farmers market. Try eating more colorful foods as well, which will make you feel even better especially if you attempt number three. You'll even notice how much more energy you will have, which is great for those late summer nights you know will be approaching soon.
5. Go shopping
OK, you've done 1 through 4, now you need some killer outfits for those plans and, of course, pictures! Save up some money and get your friends together one weekend, then splurge a bit. Treat yourself baby, not only will it make you feel better but it will also boost your mood as well as your excitement for the summer months to come.
