I love decorating — it's the most exciting part about moving into college (at least that's my opinion). When you go back to school, whether it be in a dorm room or an apartment or house, some decorating will need to happen in order to make your living space more like home. I mean, you're gonna be stuck there for eight months, might as well make it feel more homey. As I have been looking up ways to decorate my apartment this coming year, I have been seeing lots of cool ideas on Pinterest (which I am obsessed with, by the way). Here are some of my favorite things I found that would be cool to do!
1. Key Holders
When at college, you're bound to have some sort of set of keys, whether it's for your car or your room. You'll need a cute place to hang them when you aren't using them, so this is the perfect thing to hang them on. And it shows all your roommates' personalities.
2. Prayer Board
This is probably my favorite thing I've found to make so far. School and life can be stressful, and sometimes we just need that extra support from God, so adding a prayer to your prayer board isn't such a bad idea. And it allows your roommates to look at them and pray for your intentions if you need them to.
3. Paint Chip Garland
This is a great way to add color to those boring white walls. And it's super inexpensive because paint chips are free, and if you have a stencil laying around, you can use that. It's a great decoration for the living room in an apartment or main wall of a dorm room.
4. Rock Plants
If you aren't responsible enough to own live plants and don't want to kill a real plant, just grab some rocks from outside and paint them to look like plants, no water needed!
5. Masking Tape Art
Masking tape is great for decoration because it doesn't damage the walls. You can make different shapes or outline pictures with it. Washi tape is also a great way to do this as well. It creates some cool art for those oh so boring walls.
