Because we don't have to be miserable to succeed

5 Ways To Deal With The Stress Of Finals Week
1. Get focused

One of my favorite things to do when I get stressed is plan out my day so I feel less overwhelmed. I suggest waking up an hour or two earlier than usual so you can wake up, take time getting ready, and sip on a cup of coffee while making your game plan for the day

2. Take a shower

This may seem like a weird suggestion, but it’s a good one because it’s something you won’t have to feel guilty about. During finals week you may feel like taking a break is unacceptable, but in reality your mind needs these breaks to stay fresh. Afterwards, you’ll feel refreshed and ready to tackle anything.

3. Treat yourself

Just because finals week is here, you don’t have to be miserable 24/7. If you want to paint your nails, go out to dinner with friends, or watch a few episodes of a TV show on Netflix…do it. It’s okay to take a break and it’s okay to do something fun every once in a while. After all, is a perfect score worth it if you suffered trying to get it?

4. Don't forget to sleep

Whether it’s a nap or a good night’s sleep, be sure that you’re getting enough rest to keep you sane during finals week. Don’t feel defeated if you need to take a quick nap. Just like our bodies need rest after a long day, our minds must also be well rested if we want to succeed.

5. Create a to-do list

While making a list of all the things you have to do may seem intimidating and the opposite of helpful, but I actually find it comforting. As you make your way through the list, cross off everything you have done. This way, you will be able to see the progress you are making.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
