September to December is the best time of the year for gamers. Many companies release new games and make this just like Christmas, but for a whole month. This year, many new games have already been released and more are on the way. Here’s a list of games that every gamer should be already playing or have on their wish list.
1. Halo 5 (Xbox One) 10/27/2015
Microsoft and 343 Industries teamed up to bring Master Chief back into action. The game includes a new story and a multiplayer mode, which is incomparable to any previous multiplayer mode. Gamespot rated this game an 8/10 and IGN rated it a 9/10. Halo 5 made more than $400 million in its first week, making it the fastest-selling Xbox One exclusive. Halo 5 also made the biggest sales record in Xbox history. Within its first five days of release, Halo 5 was the best-selling game of October in the United States.
2. Call of Duty: Black Ops III (PC, Xbox One, Playstation 4) 11/6/2015
The latest release in the Call of Duty series and the sequel to Call of Duty: Black Ops II. In its first three days of sales, the game made over $550 million. The game is also the biggest entertainment launch of the year in that its revenue was bigger than any other game, movie, or any other form of entertainment, according to an article on Gamerant.com. The game includes a new story mode with four-player co-op mode so you can play with all your friends. There is also the legendary zombies mode. Players run around in two new maps trying to survive against hordes of zombies. There is also the ever-so-popular multiplayer mode, where players fight against people from all over the world in numerous different game modes. IGN rated this game at a 9.2/10 and Gamespot rated this game a 7/10.
3. Forza 6 (Xbox One) 09/15/2015
This game is more lifelike than ever, adding weather to the game. Developers actually visited tracks to see where puddles formed so that they could recreate them in the game. The game features a story mode that takes approximately 70 hours of game play to finish. There is also a multiplayer mode when you can race and show off your cars against friends or people around the world. The game includes 450 cars to choose from and 26 tracks to play on. IGN rated the game 9/10 and Gamespot gave the game an 8/10.
4. Fallout 4 (Xbox One, Playstation 4, PC)
One of the most highly anticipated games of the year, Fallout 4 surrounds a protagonist who travels a post-apocalyptic Boston to try and survive from all sorts of different threats. According to lead producer Jeff Gardner, he has played 400+ hours and has yet to see everything the game has to offer. That’s playing the game for over 16 days straight, so there’s a lot going on in this world. There is only a single player story mode, but with all those hours, who needs a multiplayer mode? The game sold 1.2 million copies on PC in its first 24 hours of release. With almost 470,000 concurrent Steam players on launch day, Fallout 4 broke GTA V's record for having the most concurrent online players in a PC game. The game grossed $750 million in shipped sales, with the total number of games being 12 million, also in the first 24 hours. IGN gave the game an astounding 9.5/10 and Gamespot gave the game a 9/10.
5. Star Wars: Battlefront (Xbox one, Playstation 4, PC) 11/7/2015
The third game released in the series, this game is considered a reboot of the older games rather than a sequel. Unlike most other shooting games, the player can choose from either playing in first person or third person mode. There is no campaign in the game, but co-op missions you can play with friends or people all over the world. There are four different planets to play on from the Star Wars universe: Endor, Hoth, Tatooine, and Sullust. The game lets players choose to control either a Rebel Alliance soldier or an Imperial Stormtrooper. Other playable characters are Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Boba Fett, Leia Organa, Han Solo, and the Emperor. The game was projected to sell 13 million copies worldwide. IGN gave the game an 8/10 and Gamespot gave the game a 7/10.
