I am blessed to say that I have had to pleasure of living in New Hampshire my entire life. Having lived here for almost 20 years I've come to realize that there are five types of people you'll inevitably meet when you come to New Hampshire.
The Fake Hick
He lives in a gated community, but acts like he stays in a secluded cabin in the woods. If it's camo print, he owns it. He drives an old pick-up truck with an American flag waving off of the trunk. If there is a water bottle in his car, then there's a good chance it is filled with dip-spit. His favorite pastime is shooting at the squirrels in his yard with his BB gun.
The Prep
She is decked out in Vineyard Vines and her outfit is completed with a statement necklace and Sperrys. She prefers Starbucks over Dunkin' Donuts (gasp) and she drives a Mercedes SUV. Backpacks are so last year; instead she carries her books in her vibrant pink Michael Kors shoulder bag. Her clothing is always pristine and perfectly put together, while you show up in the clothes you slept in.
The Outdoors-Man
This boy does it all! He hikes, fishes, skis, kneeboards, etc. He knows every survival trick in the book. He probably owns a house on Winnipesaukee and has it stocked with snowmobiles, four-wheelers, and jet skis. You'll very rarely see him without a bucket hat placed on his head. He's a good friend to have when you want to get in shape because he is always down for some outdoor activity.
The Photographer
Her social media is filled with artsy pictures, ranging from her feet dangling from the top of Mt. Monadnock to her kale salad in Portsmouth. She and all her friends are constantly trying to one up each other with the best filtered photos. It is unsure whether she actually enjoys the things she takes pictures of, or if she's just so deep into the game she cannot stop. She desperately tries to be the first the take a certain shot so she can claim anyone that does the same is copying her.
The Laxer
He, like every other New Hampshire boy, is a die hard laxer. His outfits all comprise of lacrosse shorts, a lacrosse shirt, Nike elites, and Nike sneakers. On days when he decides to dress up, he opts for a Vineyard Vines button down, Vineyard Vines shorts, and Sperrys. Oh, and don't forget the backwards snapback. His life revolves around his sport 24/7 and he knows that he is #D1bound.
