There are so many good television dramas and comedies that have been released in the last few years. The record is so lengthy, that you might be confused on what to start with. However, I have your back with a list of five binge-worthy TV series that I absolutely adore.
1. Bojack Horseman
This Netflix Original follows the life of a washed-up, alcoholic actor from a 90s sitcom. Bojack, with his roommate Todd, and his ex-girlfriend, Princess Carolyn — who also happens to be his agent — tries to make a comeback. The show first appeared on Netflix in 2014 and it is has been renewed for a new season, which is coming out this summer.
2. The Fosters
The Fosters is a very popular Freeform TV show about an interracial, lesbian couple and their 5 children — biological, adopted, and foster. Stef and Lena deal with all the drama their kids bring them.
3. Black-ish
Starring Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross, Blackish centers an upper-middle-class African-American family. Dre Johnson takes the audience on a tour of how it is to be black in American. Although the show is comic, there have been some very serious episodes. For example, the episode in which police brutality was addressed.
4. Switched at Birth
Switched at Birth is another Freeform TV show. It follows the lives of two families that were connected by an unfortunate mistake at a hospital. Bay Kennish is an artsy teenage girl who always thought that she was different from her family. Daphne Vasquez is a deaf teenage chef, that was raised by a single mom after her dad left. The two families realize the mistake after Bay brings home a blood test that didn't match either of her 'parents'.
5. Bordertown
Last but definitely not the least, is the Fox animated show, Bordertown. Bordertown takes place in a fictional town called Mexifornia, which is located on the border of California and Mexico. It follows the lives of neighbor, Bud Buckwald — a border patrol agent — and Ernesto Gonzalez — a Mexican immigrant. The show gained negative reviews due to its racist's stereotypes about Mexicans and its comedic take on racism against Hispanics and Latinos.
