Attending a small college definitely has its pros and cons. For the most part, it is full of benefits but when it comes to attending class it can become frustrating. Here are five truths about what it is like to attend a small college.
1. You are never late for class.
Waking up 10 minutes before class will not make you late. Every single building is within a 2- minute radius, giving you just enough time to get there on time. And you won't even have to run!
2. Every professor knows their students on a first name basis.
Often times you find yourself running into faculty and even professors on campus who, without a doubt, will say hi and call you by your first name.
3. Attendance is pretty much mandatory.
Professors make it as hard as possible to miss class and will penalize you for absences because the class sizes are so small. They are often able to tell who isn't here just by looking into the sea of students!
4. Skipping class is not an option.
Professors know everyone in the class and if you do not grace the class with your presence, you will be questioned the following class.
5. Class participation is a requirement.
Due to the small class sizes, participation in class discussions is mandatory. If you fail to participate then your grade will be greatly affected. There's no hiding in the corner!
