With social media more popular than ever, it’s becoming more and more common to have friends from across the globe. From these friendships, we learn that friendship is not measured by how many times you see the person, but rather it is measured by how strong your bond is. For some people, their long-distance friend is the most important friend.
Being part of a long-distance friendships does have its downfalls, but it does also have its perks. Here are some things you know to be true if you're part of a long distance friendship:
1. You know exactly how long it's been since you've seen them.
Maybe it's been weeks, months or maybe years. You've been counting the days since you've seen them, and man, do you miss them dearly. You begin to discover that missing them only causes your friendship to grow closer.

"Who's that you're always texting?" people may ask you. They probably think it's your significant other, but nope! Only your best friend who happens to live across country. You constantly text, and when you're not texting, you're probably on Skype or Facetime with them. There's just so much to talk about when you're not with them. You fill them in on what's going on in your life, including all the drama.
3. You love sending them things that make you think of them.
Whether it's a post on Tumblr or a sign you see while walking down the street, tons of things make you think of them. It's always fun sending things back and forth that remind you of your best friend, even when they're not there.
4. You’re masters at planning.
You're both masters at working together to work out what days work best for the both of you. Other people won't ever understand the time and effort it takes to plan out when you're going to meet up with someone. You plan months in advance in order to ensure that everything will work out.
5. You have something to look forward to.
After months of planning and working out the small details, the countdown begins. Only exactly 56 days until you get to see your best friend! The anticipation leading up to the date is invigorating, and you just can't wait. When you're finally together, it's just like they never left. You're finally with your person, your best friend!
