If you're busy like me, you always feel that there isn't enough time in the day for anything! Eating, catching up on shows, let alone breathing! But we can't forget about appointments, whether it be for when you're sick, just a checkup, or a scheduled appointment for a specialist. There isn't enough time, yet we still have to make them, keep them, and arrive on time! As your busy schedule takes an overload, let's add appointments to the mix. Here are some tips, hopefully they will make everything easier in the world of appointments.
1. Select a Day
We all have busy days and things to do during the week, and even on the weekend, but appointments still have to be made. If your schedule is pretty regular and not unpredictable, the next time you schedule your appointment, try making it on the same day. Making an appointment consecutively may help ease things a bit in your hectic life. This may also be beneficial to you if you have a bad memory! You'll always remember you have an appointment on a certain day when it beings to make its way into your own schedule.
2. Confirm
If you are unsure about an appointment date and/or time, call the office and don't just assume! There is nothing worse than rushing to go to an appointment and when you get there the receptionist tells you it's the wrong day and your appointment is tomorrow! Trust me I know from experience. Bottom line, if you don't know or you're not sure, call and confirm!
3. Put It On Your Calendar
I cannot stress this enough! So many people forget that they have upcoming appointments because they forget to put in in their phone calendar or they forget to write it down. As soon as you schedule your appointment, put it in your phone or write it down on a post-it and stick it on your fridge or somewhere in your car. The information should be placed somewhere you'll always look! Also, if you are definitely using your phone to track appointments, make sure your notifications are on for your calendar! If the notifications aren't on, the appointment will be in your calendar but you'll never be notified.
4. Remind Yourself
In addition to putting appointments in your phone calendar or writing it down, put reminders on your phone or on a Post-it note. If you know your appointment isn't around the corner and it's actually a month or two months away, make reminders or you will forget! A simple note reminding yourself of the date and time will go a long way. If you want to make other plans, you will be able to make sure you don't overbook yourself.
5. Arrive Early
After planning everything out with dates set and reminders in place, it's time to get to that appointment you made. Check the weather and your local news for traffic reports. If you know that office you need to get to is a little far from your house leave at least 20 minutes early. If it's close by, leave at least 5-10 minutes early. If you're able to arrive on time you may be taken earlier than your original appointment! I personally love that, so I can get on with my day or night.
Hopefully these tips help! Good luck!
