5 Tips On How To Start A Small Business

Trust me starting a small business and making it successful is hard, but if it is done the right way then it can be done. A lot of free time has to be put into the process, but the results are worth it. It takes a special kind of person to make it work so be that person. Here are a few tips to help you get started:

1. Come up with a product or service that people will pay for.

Once you have an idea it is important that you test the product for quality. In order to create the perfect product, you should test it and make changes to it until it couldn’t get any better.

2. Come up with a creative company name.

The name is probably the hardest part because it delays the creation of the business until you can come up with one. It’s important to pick a name that will hint at what your product is and is unique from any other company like it.

3. Start advertising.

It is so simple to start a Facebook business page. You will have to make sure that you invite all your friends to like your page and have their friends like it as well. This strategy will get you publicity from a local audience which will help to test whether your product is as great as you say it is. If people are interested and buy it then it’s working. It is also important to create some sort of business card to give out to customers and friends. Vistaprint is a great source for creating and buying professional business cards.

4. Sign up for as many vendor events as you can find.

The biggest strategy for growing your business is to make your product available to the public. The best way to prove that your product is the best is for the customers themselves to experience and feel it. Pictures on Facebook will not do your product justice. Customers are more interested in your product if they can get their hands on it.

5. Set aside time for your business outside of everyday life.

It’s is important to schedule time that will be spent on your business. It is very easy to push your business off to the side when life gets in the way, but in order for your business to be truly successful it needs the time it deserves. It is not fun to get behind when there is an important event coming up. It’s also very important to update the status on your Facebook page at least a couple times a week. That way people won’t forget about you.

Now get that creative mind working and start the small business that you have always dreamed of. Remember why you started and make it a fun.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
