5 Things Your Hostess Hates The Mostest

One might think it's a walk in the park to just sit people. Well, think again.

Working with the public isn't always easy. Here are the top five things that might annoy a hostess.

1. Asking if you seat yourself.

Of course, you do! I'm just sitting at a desk with a sign that says "Please wait to be seated" right near the door just for the fun of it!

2. Actually seating yourself

No, go ahead. It's not like it's my job to do that.

3. Moving your seat.

I sat you there for a reason, but no, go right ahead and move your seat to a waitresses’ section that I just sat. It’s not like you’re messing up my waitstaff rotation or anything.

4. When you greet them and they completely ignore you.

"Hi, welcome to (name of restaurant)! How can I help you?" *ignores you*"Bye, have a great day! Come again!" *ignores you and walks straight out of the door without acknowledging you exist*

5. Complaining to us.

Now, I don't mind helping here and there, but being asked things that your waiter/waitress takes care of is a burden on us, especially when I have a line out the door and dirty tables I need to clean to sit people. "Where's my check?" "Where's my food?" "I've been waiting so long for my food; is it almost done?" Um, I don't know good questions, why don't you ask your waiter/waitress, cause you know, that is kind of their job.

I have no control over getting people's checks. Each waitstaff at my restaurant has a certain number to put in orders, and I have no access to that, so even if I wanted to, I couldn't. I have no control over how fast your food gets to your table or not.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
