1. Free Books
We got a free textbook for every single class on our schedule. We were so unappreciative that we didn't even thank the education system. Now in college one single textbook for a single semester can run you over $300 on average. Then five months later, when the book holds no purposeful use to you, you can sell it back to the bookstore for 3 percent of the price you paid for it. You could sell it to another student to pick up a little more cash, but there is a new and required edition every semester.
2. Family Church
Once you leave for college, you won't be able to attend your family church Sunday like you could when you were in high school. Yes, there are several churches located close to campus. No, it's not the same as going to the church you were raised in. You'll miss knowing everyone's name and everyone knowing yours. You'll miss the elders that always told you how nicely you were dressed even when you weren't. You'll miss knowing every song the choir sings. You'll miss knowing the program off the back of your hand. You'll miss the first family. You'll miss everything about your family church.

3. Privacy
If you thought getting away from your siblings and parents would mean more privacy than you thought wrong. Your roommates will replace your siblings by borrowing your things without your permission and always being around when there company is least wanted. However, unlike your siblings, you can't lock them out of your room because they have a key. Your RAs will replace your parents by pressuring you to keep your room clean and enforcing all of your friends to be out by a certain time.
4. Scheduled Lunch Times
What was your favorite class of the day in high school? Son of a fish, it's lunch time! No, it wasn't a real class. No, the food wasn't always great (unless there were chicken nuggets or pizza). Lunch was more than a designated time to eat. It was also social time. In college, you just eat lunch whenever you get a chance which means sometimes you won't eat breakfast until dinner time, and coffee is considered a full meal.
5. Home
There is NO place like home. No matter how eager you were to finally graduate from high school and go off to college, you're going to miss it sooner than you thought you would . You can no longer get a home cooked meal three times a day. You'll miss out on all of the unplanned family events. You will no longer know where everything is. The little people will grow faster than your college bill. You will get homesick. Denial ain't just a river in Egypt.
