Throughout the years, my boyfriend has given me some beautiful and thoughtful gifts. Undeniably though, he's gotten me some gifts that have earned him the silent treatment. Girls are just basically one big raging hormone, and yes, while she may need some things, that doesn't mean you should be getting them.
1. Anything that promotes weight loss
Okay, so unless your girlfriend has expressed a true interest in weight loss or fitness training you may want to not get her that cool walking video, or a gym membership. Thoughtful, yes. Did you ever think though that she might be slightly offended by thinking that you're trying to tell her something?
2. Acne creams/ etc.
God Bless my boyfriend for noticing my Proactive in the bathroom, for noticing I was low and buying me more for Christmas. But, I have perfect skin now, no one knows that under the six pounds of skin care is a pimple faced girl. It may stupid, but I was very offended by thinking he thought I needed it, I mean, how did I know that he had seen it in my bathroom?
3. Clothes.
Unless she has personally told you her exact sizes, don't. You get it too small, you either don't know anything about her or you're just trying to be nice. Too big, you suddenly think she's fat.
4. Lingerie
Okay gentleman, we all know you think it's gonna get you laid. Truth be told, if she's just your girlfriend and you buy some raunchy lingerie for her to wear, she's gonna think you see her as a piece of meat. Save this for the more serious relationships, or marriages.
5. Stuff YOU enjoy
So you like fishing but your girlfriend vomits at the thought of touching fish or being in grimy water? Buying her a 200 dollar fishing pole "so she can go with you" is probably not a good idea. Quality time can be spent doing something you both enjoy.
