5 Things To Remember When S*** Sucks

5 Things To Remember When S*** Sucks

Everyone, and I mean everyone, goes through those times in their lives where they feel hurt, feel too vulnerable, feel unloved, feel discouraged or maybe even feel helpless. We all get to that crossroad where we have to decide for ourselves whether we want to let ourselves be discouraged or whether we want to look the other way and say hey, yeah s*** sucks, and I mean really sucks but I'm gonna be alright. So with that being said here's 5 things to remember when it just sucks, and sucks bad.

1. It won't be this bad forever.

That point where you feel like things really can't get any worse for you, everything will turn around sooner than you think. You'll realize (and with the help of great friends and family) that the people you meet, the lifestyle you have, and the choices you or others make, all happen for some strange reason. I get it that's not too comforting, but it should be. It should comfort you to understand that something or someone is out there is waiting for a fine a** mf like yourself. Whether a man, woman, dog, job, haircut, bar, club, library, book, something is out there for you.

2. Remember timing.

Sometimes, with no explanation, time may not be in your favor at the moment. Whatever happened to you, may suck so bad right now but always keep in mind that timing has a funny way of sucking one minute then being so right the next. Plus ya never know, time could give you the distance you need or ignite something so special that you won't know what hit ya!

3. YOU get to choose your thoughts.

At the end of the day, nobody is deserving really. Bad things happen to bad people and bad things happen to great people, throughout that YOU decide what the hell you want to think about whatever your situation may be. Wake up one day and smell the damn roses and realize that people suck, life sucks sometimes, events unfold that suck but if you are so fortunate to wake up alive tomorrow with clothes on your back and food in front of you, have yourself a great ass day.

4. Replace "This only happens to me" with "I'm doing this next".

Tired of those restless nights where your actions or the actions of those around you piss you off? Yeah, me too. So get off your rear-end and do something about it. Stop sitting around moping for your situation and get out there and slay gurl (man). Start living your life for yourself and everything will fall into place.

5. Do NOT give up.

Whatever your situation may be, know that it is okay to feel bad for yourself, to be sad, to be angry, to be stressed and to be lost but how you deal with those emotions is what really matters. So do not give up on people, humanity, religion (if you have one), friends, school, job, hobby, and most importantly, yourself. I may not know how severe your issues may be, but I do know that everything has a way of working out for the best. If life has taught me anything, it's that everything is unpredictable so make the most out of every moment and treat yo'self every chance you get.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
