Being a teacher is an important job- even if we do not make that much money. It does not matter how much money you make, what matters is that you are inspiring your students and teaching them. Educating young students is not an easy task and it is important to motivate them to want to learn. If you are going to be a future teacher like me, or are already a teacher, then you would understand these five things:
1. Trying not to laugh when a students says something hilarious but completely inappropriate.
We all have had this experience before, where a student says something hilarious but completely inappropriate, in which we have to TRY to contain our laughter. I have not had this experience YET, but I found an example on the internet from a teacher: Last year, my classroom that had an alphabet border around the edges. One of my students, Demetrius, likes to sit on the letter D because it was the first letter of his name. One day, Zaria sits on the letter D. Demetrius gets in her face and yells, "Zaria! Get off my D!" I lost it.
2. Bidding farewell to your evenings AND your weekends.
Nothing says Saturday night like worrying about Monday's lesson. #teacherproblems
3. Trying not to catch the flu from your students.
Bye-Bye GERMS!! Well.....maybe not.
4. Still acting like a teacher when you are supposed to be acting like a normal human being.
We all know these moments!
5. When a student demands a bathroom break. Every. Single. Lesson. Or Every. 5. Minutes.
Yes, we do in fact have students to ask to use the restroom 24/7.I went to observe at an elementary school and this one student asked the teacher to go to the bathroom literally every 5 minutes.
Even though there are these certain things that happen with teaching, it is definitely worth it in the end and I cannot wait to become a teacher!
