Definitely Not The Best Four Years Of Your Life, But I Still Miss It

It's definitely true that there are far better things and opportunities in college. There are no parents around and you manage your own time. The four years you spend in high school are definitely not the best years of your life, but there were definitely plenty of fun memories throughout that I wish I could relive sometimes. So here some of the things I miss most about high school

1.) Playing Sports

I had always played sports every since I could walk. They were a huge part of high school for me. It was a way to stay active and form bonds and friendships with all my teammates. I have the option of joining a club or intramural team, but I don't ever have time.

2.) My friends

Don't get me wrong, I love all of my friends I have made while in college. It's hard not to get close to people you live with and see every day. However, I miss my friends from home I grew up with throughout my childhood. They were the ones I went through everything with; from classes to sports, to dances, and more. I miss the weekend sleepovers and hanging out.

3.) Friday Night Football Games

Coming from someone who goes to a school without a football team, this is actually something I miss a lot more than I thought I would. The games, especially for homecoming, were events I would look forward to hanging out with my friends.

4.) School Dances

While this is something I still (sort of) have, like formals, homecoming, and prom were the two most important events of the year in high school. Whether you had a date or not, the dances were still fun to go to and have a good time with your friends.

5.) Teachers

Having teachers that I saw every day and who knew me more personally is something I wish I hadn't taken for granted. They were the ones who assigned homework, gave tests and everyone hated them for. But they actually cared about their students and got to know them. It's impossible for professors in college to get to know over 200 students in their lectures.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
