If you have ever seen the show "Gossip Girl" then you know that it is one of the best shows the CW has put out there. It follows upper east siders Serena, Blair, Chuck, Nate, and Dan from Brooklyn. They all go to the same private school where all their secrets and life events are posted up to a site called, you guessed it, Gossip Girl. So when your life has no secrets and you have nowhere to hide, what do you learn?
1. The worst breakups are best friend breakups
Blair and Serena are the ultimate best friend goals when everything is smooth sailing, but when they are at war, their friendship is a hot mess. They love each other more than anyone and hate each other more than anyone. When these two are at war, it is more heartbreaking than any breakup the two ever face. Friends are the people that keep us grounded, they are there for us in the worst of times and the best of times. When these relationships are broken, it is more heartbreaking than any other breakup.
2. Never give up on the ones you love
If there is anything we can take away from Blair Waldorf, it is that you never give up on the ones that you love. No matter what you go through, no matter how hard they push you away, you should always fight for the ones you care about. Giving up on people is not an option. To be a powerful Queen like Blair, always be loyal to those you love. Be the rock in their lives that they can always count on.
3. Attitude is everything
When walking on the Upper East Side, the only way to get people to move out of your way is to give them a sample of you attitude. On the show gossip girl every character has their fare share of sass. The way the manipulate people and get what they want is by intimidating people. These teenagers teach us that the way to make the world your stage is to act like it always was.
4. Your first love will always be a unique love
Dan and Serena are the ideal first love couple. Their love is strong and really beautiful. Even though they are young their love is real. Because they are young their relationship has a lot of ups and downs. No matter what happens in their lives they always come back to each other. They have a special bond that no one can break, and trust me people try to. People's first loves can be magical and exciting, heartbreaking and drama filled, or a mix of these things. Dan and Serena's love story provides us with entertainment, laughter, love, and tears.
5. Your friends might date your exes and it's going to be painful/awkward
It all started with Serena sleeping with Nate in the early episodes of Gossip Girl. This betrayed her best friend Blair who was dating Nate at the time. Flash forward a few seasons and Blair and Nate try again, then fail. Soon after Serena and Nate try to date, and fail, again. Then Dan and Blair decide to hook up, even though Serena and Dan had a major love story. Dan and Blair's relationship is definitely the most cringe worthy of the whole show. Feelings were hurt, and punches were thrown but after all this mess and confusion, people end up with the people they were supposed to be with all along. Maybe they just needed to see what else was out there to know they had it right the first time.
